Heavy rain this morning surprised us, but what mixed the day up unnecessarily was the fact that the weather forecast was completely false. The rain stopped… but it was too late to reschedule the original tour planned for today. Good thing the guests are here for another day! We are venturing out tomorrow… let’s see what we will explore…

Tide Rollers & Mudlarkers... 
We are enjoying our first rain in weeks here in Calgary – filled my empty rain barrels. But when I checked, the soil is still dust-dry a couple of inches down. Every bit is welcome here right now. I’m hoping it helped the firefighters, too.
Mother Nature seems to delight in proving the forecasters wrong occasionally, sending a surprise rain (or holding it off) to show us just who is in charge.

We also need the rain. We have had such dry conditions since last year that the fires were no surprise. We are also grateful for the rain… it’s a good reminder to stay flexible in my plans.😊
