I spent my morning in a choice spot along the Upper Bay of Fundy Minas Basin on the beach at Five Islands Provincial Park. After a stormy day and night the wind was easing up a little, enough that I could lean into it and not lose my footing. I tried to capture the forceContinue reading “Share-worthy: Kingdom of the Tide”

Changing Perspective
Quick check in after the day’s activities did not quite go to plan… this image kept me moving forward: one of the best perspectives when hiking through the forest in any season!
Bush Whacking Adventure Leads Us Up the Creek
The plan to visit Hidden Falls was quickly abandoned when this happened: When Heather broke through the ice and diverted the flow of water we quickly changed plans and set out for another option. The creek without a name near Moose River was calling us. We quickly left the skidoo path and made our wayContinue reading “Bush Whacking Adventure Leads Us Up the Creek”

To Jeffers Falls and Beyond
Waking up to sunshine and blue sky was just what we hoped for. My friend and I had planned this particular excursion for a while and after rain, snow and flash freeze yesterday the conditions were perfect. Our hike led past Jeffers Falls where we discovered beautiful ice flows with edges smoothed by the waterContinue reading “To Jeffers Falls and Beyond”
Wednesdays Along the Parrsboro Shore: walk in the a. m. – hike in the p. m.
Wednesdays in Parrsboro during winter months are never without an outdoor opportunity! We walk in the morning (two differently paced groups) and we explore beaches and woodlands during the afternoon! Today’s afternoon excursion in the sun led us to Wards Brook Beach, the Brookville Formation and beyond. Soaking in the sunshine, a relaxing cuppa andContinue reading “Wednesdays Along the Parrsboro Shore: walk in the a. m. – hike in the p. m.”

Happy Lunar New Year!
I went to the beach and just about the time I was ready to leave I met my very own dragon! May this be a prosperous year for all of us!
Another busy Wednesday…
The regular walk in the morning… …followed by a snowshoe excursion in the afternoon. These are the things worth sharing. Just finished working on a proposal for five hours. Such tedious work without physical activity… and just like that another day is over! Good night, world!
Storm Stayed
The weather forecast was very accurate this weekend: snow and wind for two full days made for time indoors. These are the kind of days that call for indoor projects like paint touch ups, making a new set of quilted pot holder mitts and finishing a section on my lace knitting project. Can’t wait toContinue reading “Storm Stayed”
And so it begins…
…my first tour registration for June 27th arrived via email on this snowy day today! Thanks @KeepYourDayDream for the opportunity to show you around the Parrsboro Shore area in June 2023.

The Three Waterfalls event was originally advertised for January 12th but had to be changed due to poor trail conditions. I am pleased to announce: We are heading to ThreeContinue reading “Three Waterfalls Hike Scouting Mission Success”
Snow-covered Trails through the Woods and to the Beach
Two weeks ago I explored this trail when it looked completely different. After some decent snow accumulation I set out again today and discovered a winter wonderland. The bonus was the receding tide which revealed a stunning shale beach. Enjoy the images, happy Saturday!
