Yes, 730 is not a fictitious number I pulled from the air or my imagination. Today’s entry truly constitutes my 730th blog post, two complete years of posting every day! It all started out with a more contemplative theme. I would choose one or two images, add some personal thoughts, a haiku or I wouldContinue reading “Blog Post #730”

Beach Impressions
I decided to share just a few beach impressions from today’s 12.5 km beach hike from Soley’s Cove to Jacob’s Lane Beach in Economy. Happy Saturday, Anna
Tranquility…
It’s a snow day today and I am grateful for yesterday, when on my way home from the Cape Sharpe hike I stopped at the beach near Partridge Island. The tide was receding. And all I did was listen, give in to the rhythm of nature … and breathe. I was reminded of that momentContinue reading “Tranquility…”
Sublimation…
…post sunrise. The view was spectacular once again this morning. Vapours rising from the Farrells River as it flows toward the Bay of Fundy, peaceful and mesmerizing! Happy Thursday, everyone! Best wishes, Anna
Snowy Surprise!
Daylight revealed a layer of snow blanketing the landscape this morning! No words are necessary to describe my surprise. There was a silver lining to the weather change… the Canada Geese had a blast getting a polar dip bath! Now, if that doesn’t put a smile on your face I will be surprised!😁 Enjoy, Anna
Storm Day
The predicted storm arrived earlier than expected. The preparations this time around involve a bit more than usual with Christmas just a couple days away. I was able to tear myself away from the kitchen for a little while to make my way to Ottawa House Beach. I am so glad I got outside… TheContinue reading “Storm Day”
Tranquil Beach Moments
Nothing beats a few quiet minutes by the beach… enjoy, Anna
Marsh Bubbles…
The marsh near Partridge Island sits on top of ancient basalt beds. With each tide cycle we witness tiny bubbles emerging from the porous rocks. Ancient indigenous legends tell us that the spots where the water bubbles are Glooscap’s Grandmother’s Cooking Pots. No matter how often I witness this phenomenon I never grow tired ofContinue reading “Marsh Bubbles…”

Sharing the Experience!
As newcomers to the Parrsboro Shore you know that you belong once you have experienced the “Meeting of the Waters” at Two Islands around the full moon. Another new member to the community reached out last week to find out more about hiking and exploring the beaches. I decided to share the ultimate experience withContinue reading “Sharing the Experience!”
Comparing the Landscape overlooking Five Islands, Nova Scotia
Last week I upgraded my blog to include video clips. It’s only fitting that I start sharing some moving pictures. I have chosen two clips: the top video was captured from the look off at Five Island Lighthouse Park on Saturday, June 25th around low tide. The video below was captured from approximately the sameContinue reading “Comparing the Landscape overlooking Five Islands, Nova Scotia”
