Grey Saturday Impressions
Partridge Island Beach was a busy place this afternoon… grey sky and strong winds cut our walk short. Despite the gloomy mood it was good to get out. Hope your Saturday is sunny, Anna
Sometimes all you need is…
…a sandstone cliff! I spent nearly an hour exploring. Enjoy the close ups! Wishing you all a peaceful Good Friday, Anna
A “new to me beach” to explore…
A grey afternoon threatening rain won’t keep us at home now that the temperatures are rising. My friend and I headed down shore toward Port Greville and decided to explore a beach we had not visited before. Each stretch of rocky shore offers so much to explore. We walked along the high tide line withContinue reading “A “new to me beach” to explore…”
Let’s Go to the Beach…
…and look for some driftwood, my friend said around lunchtime. Off we went, heading down shore toward Fox River. “If we turn where the old school building is and access the beach there, we will find great pieces of wood…”. I am game, it’s only a short drive! And we were not disappointed! We madeContinue reading “Let’s Go to the Beach…”
Five Islands on a Moody Morning from Blue Sac Road Beach
Yesterday called for some beach time. The weather ended up less sunny than promised but I managed to inhale some sea air while exploring the views as the tide was nearing its lowest point. Exploring the ocean floor, as it is exposed, and hunting for interesting tthings along the high tide mark make every beachContinue reading “Five Islands on a Moody Morning from Blue Sac Road Beach”
Sunday Outing…
By now you all know this unique landmark, the arch at Clarke Head. Nothing gives me greater joy than sharing our amazing beaches and geological formations with newcomers to the area! Last Sunday turned out to be a sunny day, ideal to walk to Clarke Head and back before the tide cut us off. MyContinue reading “Sunday Outing…”
Cochrane Road Beach in Port Greville
I can’t remember the last time I walked along this beach, and never I have I been here at high tide. The waves were rushing toward us, the sound drowning out any bird sounds. The smell of the sea air, the sound of the waves hitting the shore and rushing back across the pebbles wasContinue reading “Cochrane Road Beach in Port Greville”
Twelve Days Later Than Planned…
…but I finally made it to my monthly destination, Clarke Head. It was a grey day, with rain in the forecast. A little rain was not going to deter my friend and I when we set out shortly after the tide turned yesterday afternoon. The walk was wonderful and just what I yearned for. ThisContinue reading “Twelve Days Later Than Planned…”
Sunset Beach Walk at Diligent River Beach
Oh how wonderful it felt to get to the beach at sunset last night! We brought along the pups and they had a grand time marking spots, sniffing out treasures and jumping over obstacles. The sunset brought rich golds and oranges with the blue sky reflecting off the calm waters in the channel. There isContinue reading “Sunset Beach Walk at Diligent River Beach”
High above Wasson’s Bluff
Saturday was a gorgeous spring day. We visited friends who overlook Two Islands. The views are always a treat. Cape Blomidon in the distance… It was great to connect with friends after another long winter mostly socially distancing. …and some lovely garden finds. Happy Monday, my friends!
First Beach Walk
The afternoon brought sunshine after the overnight rain. I made it to the beach for my first real post-surgery walk. Slowly gaining energy and strength. Grateful for our amazing beaches. Hope your Sunday was filled with sunshine! Best wishes, Anna
Fractured…
I am reposting some images from late December. Since it will be some time before I see myself walking and exploring the beaches close to home I am loosing myself in the images I have gathered. This is from the beach at Five Islands Lighthouse Park, one of the magical spots along the Minas BasinContinue reading “Fractured…”
Spring Snow
It’s one of those early Canadian Spring days… snow falls and rests on our backyard geese backs. Enjoy your day, Anna
Yesterday at First Beach
A glorious spring-like day at first beach with the last of the ice cakes melting: … and the Sugar Moon rising through the trees. Happy Sunday. Best wishes, Anna
Inner Harbour Exploration
Yesterday was another sunny day and with half an hour to spare between commitments I went out for a quick walk. Parrsboro has a rich shipbuilding and seafaring history. The harbour is gone and much has changed but remnants of the old docks provide great opportunities to explore. The anchor holds much symbolism on multipleContinue reading “Inner Harbour Exploration”
We have been Rock Bombed…
This lovely painted rock suddenly appeared next to our oak tree in the front yard this morning. What a way to start a new week! We love Parrsboro. Thank you to the person who surprised us!
Anticipation…
The rainy day yesterday led to a light dusting of snow overnight. While scrolling through images I was drawn to the one featured today. It was created on a warm November day last year. For me it holds the promise of warmer days, calmer days and days that bring peace, better health for all andContinue reading “Anticipation…”
Rays of Hope
I captured this image about ten weeks ago. It was late 2021, a moody day with constant light changes presented me with this mesmerizing vista. I found myself behind seaweed covered boulders just in time for the sun to push through the clouds to illuminate the waters of the Minas Basin May this day beContinue reading “Rays of Hope”
The Beach is Calling…
The call of the ocean is strong, especially on days that are filled with other commitments. This image sums it up best: I need to make a date with the beach soon! Happy Wednesday, Anna
