The “Guzzle”

Not far from Evangeline Beach in Grand Pre and a short drive along dyke land is “The Guzzle”, an inter-tidal area of significance and ever-changing. We visited here the first time four years ago and since then some things have changed. The interpretive signs are a great addition to this destination viewpoint. Speaking of theContinue reading “The “Guzzle””

Inspirational Reading

I could not pass by the bookshelf at Masstown Market without picking up this little treasure trove of inspiring passages earlier today! I have to share the title and publication info between devouring Laurie Lacey’s relatable writings. Definitely worthwhile! Happy Friday, my friends. Best wishes, Anna.

Rainy Day Impressions

On my walk to weekly writing group I thoroughly enjoyed the quiet nature of a misty fall day. Stopping for various discoveries, admiring them and trying to capture the moment I nearly arrived late! The monochromatic landscape paired well with coloured contemplative discoveries along the way. Enjoy and immerse yourselves. Best wishes, Anna

Cape Sharpe Lighthouse

My friend Adrienne and I had planned this short hike a while ago. Our schedules lined up for this morning and it promptly started to rain at the agree pickup time. We persevered and by the time we arrived at the trailhead the rain had stopped. The rugged hiking trail is steep and I hadContinue reading “Cape Sharpe Lighthouse”

When the day begins a little foggy…

…it often rewards us with a touch of colour! May it brighten your Monday, wherever you are. Love and light, Anna

Fleeting Moments of Autumn

Many of you will agree when I point out that an autumnal walk will reveal discoveries often bypassed. Not only are the leaves changing colour but the fruit is past it’s prime… add a little frost and we have a reason to contemplate fading beauty. Saturday Blessings, Anna

Soley Cove Sea Stack Revisited

The weather yesterday afternoon was perfect for a little excursion. Soley Cove is a favourite destination. It was time to check up on the sea stack after Hurricane Fiona. Fiona definitely left her mark, the Soley Cove sea stack has “lost a little more weight” but the scenery always leaves me in awe… Best wishesContinue reading “Soley Cove Sea Stack Revisited”

Treasure Hunt…

…on a frosty morning! Yes, this was the first frost we have encountered this fall. And a glorious walk followed. The sun was up and rapidly warming the landscape. The jewel-like ice crystals surrounding leaves and flowers melted quickly but not until I had time to explore nature’s gifts. Hope your Monday presented you withContinue reading “Treasure Hunt…”

Explosion of Colour

Each day there are changes… fall colours are getting stronger and more prolific. I am hosting our local Contemplative Photography group tomorrow morning, the theme is “Flowers & Weeds”. I look forward to everyone’s submission for the review. Fall is the perfect time to explore this particular theme. Here are a few of my findsContinue reading “Explosion of Colour”

Quick Check In

Power was restored for most homes in Parrsboro late last night. We were so surprised and extremely grateful to the Nova Scotia Power restoration teams. Power means that freezers will keep the food supply safe for now. Cell service is still quite spotty for us. I drove down to the pier to update this blog.Continue reading “Quick Check In”

Fiona has moved on from Parrsboro…

…Thanks for checking in today. I received numerous messages inquiring about our well-being. Here is the short version of the situation in Parrsboro: We have had no power since midnight and no cell phone service in town. I finally found connectivity with my cell phone near the pier. We weathered the storm without damage toContinue reading “Fiona has moved on from Parrsboro…”
